How to use this tool
- Select a dimension such as length, torque or pressure.
- Choose source and destination units within that dimension.
- Enter the quantity and review the value and conversion method.
- Download a calculation summary when you need a record.
Calculation method and formula
Converted value = source value × source SI factor ÷ target SI factor. For absolute temperatures: K = °C + 273.15; °F = 1.8 × °C + 32.
1 inch = 25.4 mm exactly. A temperature of 0 °C converts to 32 °F, while a difference of 1 °C corresponds to a difference of 1.8 °F.
What the calculation does not cover
- Do not convert unlike dimensions; torque and energy share unit symbols but are not interchangeable.
- Temperature differences are not the same as absolute temperature readings.
- Double-check significant figures against the instrument or drawing precision.

Common questions
Can I convert Celsius directly to Fahrenheit?
Yes, absolute temperature conversion applies the correct 32-degree offset. For temperature differences, the conversion is different.
Which factors should I trust?
Defined SI relationships are used; for critical work cross-check conversions using NIST SP 811.
Engineering use: This calculator is a transparent estimate for its defined model; confirm units, applicability, standards and engineering decisions independently.
